To reach for the moon, lest I should fall,

But what is Dream
when I am just a gush of whirlwind?
And what is Dream
as I bathe in tears that flow like a stream?
Still I did dream:
I dreamt big and I dreamt far.
I reached for the moon, and surely I did fall
to find myself among starfishes on the shore.

To reach for the moon is impossible. So what it means is that, aim for more than you can actually achieve, so if you fall short of it, you will still be at your best. It's like aiming for 105% in a test, so if even if you fall short, there is still a chance of getting 100%. If you aim for a 100% and you fall short, you will get less than the perfect score.

that's also true but sometimes when i aim smtng higher i scared i might end with disapointment. =( and sometimes i really do end up with disapointment.
